Our Story
Auto Supply and Equipment (ASEC, Inc) is a third-generation family-owned and operated parts supplier, founded by William “Willie” A. Towne Jr. and Patsy Towne in 1971. We believe in doing business differently - with better parts and the most knowledgeable staff in the industry. In 2010, NAPA Auto Supply and Equipment became NAPA affiliated and has since expanded to better serve The Low Country of South Carolina.
1971
Willie Towne, Jr. and Patsy Towne open Auto Supply and Equipment in Charleston,
S.C.
Charles Towne and Bernard “MAC” McLaughlin join the company as partners to help
grow and expand services in the Charleston Area.
1970s
1980s
Auto Supply and Equipment Transition from a Big A Jobber and join the Road Pro
Group. We expand into servicing South Carolina Jobbers as a wholesale supplier.
Rhonda Bearfield, Bob Bearfield, Valerie Morris and Rick Towne join the family business.

Auto Supply and Equipment continued to grow and transitions to the Alliance
Group as a Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts Distributor in South Carolina.
1990s
2010
Auto Supply and Equipment (ASEC, Inc) joins the NAPA Auto Parts group as a Jobber
Affiliate.
NAPA Auto Supply has grown to 13 stores. We employ 100 plus families and
continue to be owned and managed by the Towne Family. Wade Bearfield, Coby Morris and
Marlin Morris join the family business.
